Sparkle Watson, inspiration behind Beyond The Sparkle Foundation

Sparkle Lynn Watson's life and death inspired the creation of the Beyond the Sparkle Foundation. Her personality and intellect shone through even brighter than her beauty. Before her death on April 15, 2015, Sparkle made up her mind that she was ready to leave her abusive relationship. Her life was taken by her husband while she was in the process of leaving.

As children Sparkle and I experienced domestic violence. Children are often the silent victims in family violence.

Imagine thinking, as a child, the reason Santa didn’t bring you anything was because you were naughty. Imagine sharing 1 gift between the 3 siblings or watching your more fortunate peers enjoy their toys.

As an adult, I understand the reality that presents weren’t in our family's budget. Even so, memories of those feelings can stay with you for life.

As anyone who has experienced it can tell you, the impact of domestic violence doesn’t take a day off. Struggling to meet basic needs can be stressful for parents and children. It doesn't get any easier during the holidays.

For children, the holidays are all about hope and possibility.

We want to help each child feel equally important. One by one, we can help families celebrate Christmas without worrying about what’s under the tree. That’s the motivating force behind Beyond the Sparkle Foundation’s toy drive.

With your help we can fulfill the hopes of 100 children experiencing hardship during the holidays!
