Keep Track
Donation receipts are an easy way for you to keep track of your finances when it comes to charitable giving.

Donation receipts also provide us (BTSF) with clear and accurate financial records.
Thank you for showing up
Donation receipts are necessary for:
-
Single donations greater than $250.
-
Whenever you (a donor) requests a donation receipt.
-
When you (a donor) receive goods or services from us in exchange for a single donation greater than $75.

What's on the receipt?
1. Your name
2. Beyond the Sparkle Foundation's name, federal tax ID number, and a statement indicating that the organization is a registered 501(c)(3)
3. Date of the donation
4. The amount of money or a description (but not the value) of the item(s) donated. You (donor) are responsible for assigning a cash value of donated items or in-kind contributions.
5. A statement indicating whether any goods or services were provided in exchange for the donation:
-
If there were goods or services given in return for your contribution, BTSF will note that in the receipt.
-
If your gift was $75 or more, and BTSF provided something in return (i.e., tickets to an event), then BTSF will need to provide a good-faith estimate of the value of the goods or services provided to you.
6. Name and signature of an authorized board member or head of department.
7. A disclosure, if necessary. These vary from state to state, so double check to make sure you’re including the required disclosure statements for all states that your donors are contributing from.
