About Sparkle  Watson

Sparkle Lynn Watson was born March 30, 1981. She was an African American woman who was beautiful and full of life. Her personality and intellect shone through even brighter than her beauty. Sparkle was born and raised in the public housing in Dallas, Texas.

 

She was a bit of a perfectionist. Sparkle wanted to be the best at everything she attempted. Her journey into motherhood came with health challenges that she navigated through. She loved her son, Michael Jackson Jr., and worked hard to provide him with a better life.

 

She saw her loved ones in domestic violence relationships growing up. Sparkle often talked about how she wanted better but shouldn’t have to leave her home and the things that she acquired. Before her death, Sparkle made up her mind that she was ready to leave. She gained employment and began to make her escape plan.

 

Sparkle was a strong-minded and very outspoken person. She had friends, but she also had enemies. She wasn't perfect, but this doesn’t mean that she deserved to lose her life. She was a daughter, mother, sister and friend.

 

Her son, Michael Jackson Jr., will have to carry the memories of losing both of his parents on April 17, 2015. It is our job as a family and a country to prevent as many children as we can from experiencing this fate.
