According to the CDC, limiting close face-to-face contact with people is the best way to reduce the spread of COVID-19 aka coronavirus.
Grocery stores can be places with high foot traffic, even with social distancing, wearing a mask, and wiping down baskets the risk is really in exposure to other people who aren't wearing masks or practicing social distancing.
The best way to reduce face-to-face contact is not to go into the store and if you do go in, not to stay inside for very long.
That's why we want to encourage you to try ordering online and having groceries delivered to your door or using pickup at the grocery store.

Where to shop online?
Amazon - SNAP/EBT
*Alabama, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia
There are 3 shipping options. You can use regular Amazon with specific items that are WIC Approved, or you can use Amazon Pantry to buy everyday items with free shipping at $35. There's no issue with living outside the range of delivery, because pantry items are delivered by USPS. Or you can use Amazon Fresh for fresh produce and meat - (there may be a delivery range).
*Arkansas, Alaska, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Carolina, Utah.
Order: Order groceries at walmart.com/grocery or on the Walmart Grocery mobile app
Checkout: During checkout, select EBT Card as payment method
Pickup: Swipe EBT card with the Walmart associate when you arrive at the pickup location
SNAP EBT payments for pickup orders are now accepted at all pickup locations (sorry doesn't work for Walgreens).
Place your pickup order, at Payment Option choose “SNAP EBT at Pickup.”
When you arrive at your pickup location, swipe your EBT Card to complete your order.
*At this time, WIC is not currently accepted.
When you arrive at your store, follow the signs to the Pickup area and park in one of the marked spaces.
Next, call the number on the sign to let the Pickup associates know you’ve arrived. (TIP: If you’re using the app, turn location services on. Kroger associates will automatically be notified when you’ve arrived!)
An associate will bring your order out and load it into your vehicle.
With the pandemic underway, it can seem like there are few opportunities to go outside. So, we're not saying don't drive around in your car or take time to yourself and go to a park with a face covering - we're just saying if you don't have to go in the store, consider not going in the store.
